Welcome

Congregation B'nai Jacob is located at 600 17th Street in downtown Bakersfield. Founded in 1915, Congregation B'nai Jacob has been welcoming Jews to worship, study and participate in community activities in its present location since 1954.

To learn more about our synagogue and the city of Bakersfield, please see our About Us page. Our synagogue's architecture has even been featured by a photographer from Utah. Click here to learn more.

The synagogue continues to undergo a major refurbishment welcoming residents of Bakersfield and the surrounding communities to become a part of the synagogue family.

B'nai Jacob's Hebrew School

B'nai Jacob's children's school is in full swing this year. Although the school has started, there is always room for more children. We look forward to another year of fun and learning.

The School Packets have gone out, but check out the school webpage for more information.

The school starts every Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

Interested in signing up your child?  Please refer to our Sunday School page for more information.  We also have a Children's Service once a month which is time and content appropriate for children of all ages. Please refer to our Current Events page for dates and times.
